Don Valentini - Partner
Don is CPA Accredited and graduated from La Trobe University Bendigo in 1987. The founder of VMG Accounting, he first established the practice in Queen Street Bendigo in 1987. Don's 25 years in the accounting industry has afforded him insight and knowledge in diverse industries and areas from sub-division and development to the Funeral Industry and Tyre retailing. Don has a straight forward and practical approach to complex issues giving him the ability to create accessible and adaptable solutions for his clients.
Most weekends Don can be found with spanner in hand tweaking his son's gokart or watching his daughter sing and dance her way to Hollywood.
Dean Murphy - Partner
Dean is CPA Accredited and graduated with a Bachelor of Business from La Trobe University Bendigo in 1995. Dean has been in the accounting industry for 15 years and joined the practice in 1996. With a strong focus on VMG Accountings clients from the Legal, Health and Fitness Industries, he has a particular interest in Self Managed Super Funds. Dean particularly enjoys working with clients on business development, helping clients to achieve their goals. He believes the key for his clients is to help them work smarter, not harder to help them achieve work life balance.
A keen cyclist – Dean is the current President of the Regional Academy of Cycling Excellence.
Dean Gordon - Partner
Dean became an accredited CPA in 2000 after graduating from a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ballarat in 1995. 6 years after joining VMG Accounting team in 2008 he completed Public Practice and in 2009 Dean became a partner in the practice, giving rise to the change of name from Valentini & Murphy to VMG Accounting.
As a public practice accountant Dean is well rounded in all areas of accounting. Dean has strong relationships with his clients, built up over the last 15 years and particularly enjoys working with them to achieve their financial goals and complete their compliance requirements.
Dean grew up in a farming family which gives him a personal understanding of our Agricultural Sector clients; he has lived in Bendigo now for over 15 years. A keen sportsman, Dean is the treasurer of the Newbridge Football Club and has served on the committee for over 10 years.
Anna Mignogna
Anna is a CPA accredited senior accountant born and bred in Bendigo. Anna graduated from La Trobe University, Bendigo with a Bachelor Business (Asia Pacific Studies) and has been a valued member of the VMG Accounting team since beginning as a graduate accountant in 2000.
Kerri White
Kerri started working in 1987 with Don Valentini and has remained with the firm since. In 1999 Kerri began working part time after the birth of her first child. Kerri continues to provide VMG Accounting with her invaluable knowledge gained from her experience in the accounting industry over the last 20 years.
Anthea Hamilton
Anthea joined VMG Accounting in 2002 part-time while she completed a Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University Bendigo, her home town. Anthea commenced full time work after graduating from her studies in 2004 and has since gone on to complete the CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) accreditation.
Chris Ryan
Chris joined the VMG Accounting in 2007, returning home to Bendigo after working in London as a management Accountant for the National Health Service.
Chris graduated from La Trobe University Bendigo in 2003 with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and completed his Certified Practicing Accountant accreditation in 2006. Chris grew up on a farm and so has a firsthand knowledge of agribusiness, but enjoys the opportunity to work with a diverse range of businesses and individuals at VMG Accounting.
Like most of the VMG Accounting team, Chris is a keen sports person - football, cricket and golf in particular. Chris is the treasurer of Colbinabbin Cricket Club.
Kristy Rutter
Kristy joined VMG Accounting in August 2007. Kristy has had 11 years experience in the accounting industry and is currently assisting our accountants on a part time basis.
Christine Schmidt
Christine is the first friendly face you will meet as you enter the VMG Accounting office. Part of our team of valued receptionists, Christine joined the team in 2000 with a background of over 20 years in the accounting industry.
Caroline Robinson
Caroline has been in the accounting industry for over 6 years and joined VMG Accounting in 2006 as part of our reception team. Originally from Bendigo, Caroline is currently studying at the University of South Australia by correspondence completing her Accounting degree. In 2005 she completed a Certificate 3 in financial services.
Our self nominated in-house IT consultant, Caroline also has a great understanding of MYOB and QuickBooks.
